Windy and COLD! But boy did we love this city.
I can’t recall exactly how many times I’ve traveled and come home with hundreds of images that ended up just sitting on my computer. I’ll admit this eventually led to me to basically avoiding taking my camera out and about for personal use. The thought of tons of images sitting on my hard drive, taking up space, is actually stressful (to me). So… now I’ve got this fantastic medium to not only share images, but get me taking them on a personal level again.
Top 3 things I LOVED about Chicago?
- THE ARCHITECTURE – it kinda felt like we were in Gotham City. This town is art-deco FABULOUS! And “the bean” is all it’s cracked up to be and more. Have I mentioned I kinda have a thing for bridges? Iron bridges, specifically.
- THE STREET ART – I haven’t seen this much art on city streets since traveling to Italy (more to come on that). Coincidentally, our choice in hotel had the same appreciation for street art!
- THE FOOD – Deep dish pizza isn’t the only staple this town has to offer… spots that have graced the world’s best restaurants list reside in Chicago. We were lucky enough to book a reservation in one… months in advance! I knew better than to take my camera in with me; however, the experience only warmed my heart to this town even more. Now, if you scroll down you’ll see the results of when I did take my camera out to eat and one of the most beautiful milkshakes you’ll ever lay your eyes on! Did I mention I have a thing for taking pictures of my food?

windy photo credit goes to the patient husband 🙂

This guy… to say he has always supported my art is a wild understatement. He makes me feel lucky. Forever grateful, my love.

This particular piece sits close to my heart. My family is Puerto Rican, which make my roots spread all the way down to that tiny island in the Caribbean Sea. The thought of the time I’ve spent there will always pull at my heart strings.

This little bike was hanging at the entrance of a bike shop – appropriate. The mosaic on the right was at the entrance of a convenience store – unexpected.

I HEART this moose! I wish I could explain how large this piece was in person. Imagine 5 cars parallel parked along the bottom (yes, this was in an actual parking lot) and about 3 stories running up to the top of the antlers. I could have laid across the giant bubble and still not touched the edge!

These were as good as they look…
